Another in the long line of potential “cures” that have been touted over the decades. Pay no attention until it’s been proven to work.

There’s something about this replacement screen on my XR. It’s weird, it feels… softer? Lighter? Uet super bright and vivid. Using a 4 for 72 hours can’t uave changed my perspective that much, since I’ve mostly been using my iPad Pro 🤷🏻♂️
Sweet glorious victory. I have my 2 year old phone back with a fixed screen, so I can re-retire my 10 year old phone. Turns out if your phone does very little, incredibly slowly, you hardly use it!
My phone for the next week (while my XR is sent off to have its screen repaired). It’s gloriously small. And woefully slow. It’s a 10 year old phone! And I’ll be doing nothing but messaging and listening to podcasts, because that’s all it can really do.
Taking a bit of a break from Twitter. And since I have compulsive muscle memory, it’s PiHole to the rescue.
The existence of marionettes implies the existence of warionettes.
Remember hacky sacks?
Sometimes I’m listening to a random playlist on Apple Music and I wonder “man, what playlist is this? These songs are all bangers! … oh it’s my favourites list.”
I ordered some grain for brewing three beers of different styles over the next few months. Instead of getting all grains in seperate bags by grain type (like normal), I got the whole lot in a single sack. So I guess I have to brew an extra pale white stout saison.
Not going to say what this is, but needless to say, I nailed it in the last 24 hours.
Delving into writing a plug-in for micro.blog, I’ve had a good look into Hugo theming. And it’s been a SMH moment, as my pure javascript solution to customise comments is somewhat redundant. Hugo themes and templates are super powerful. Oh well 🤷🏻♂️
I’m turning my customised comments code into a proper plugin. It’ll be easier to install and the code won’t change much. But before I do that, I need to get a little essential piece going that’s proving frustratingly elusive - comment counts per article on the home screen.
I started just before Star Trek: Picard started, and I just finished watching every episode of Star Trek: Voyager (most of which I’d never seen). What a ride. Next to take me through until the end of the year: Deep Space Nine.
Typical. I break my iPhone (cracked the screen), 3 months out from the new ones being announced. Happened with my 6 too (dropped that one in the bucket while I mopped the floor). Now, can I go 3 months or will I crack? (lol)
Me: Cool. My customised comments script and associated CSS is done and I can post the tutorial today after one more edit pass.
@manton: Introducing plug-ins for Micro.blog.
Me: ⌘-A delete.
I appreciate macOS reloading webpages when they’re using significant energy. That’s great news for laptops. But this iMac is plugged into the wall. Energy conservation at this scale isn’t that worthwhile.
Star Trek: Voyager is great, but it bothers me that almost all alien races are headed by males. Very few first contacts they make are fronted by the women of the alien race.
I bought some beer at the supermarket today, as they have an outstanding craft beer selection. Then something happened that I hadn’t experienced for more than a decade – I got ID’d! I laughed all the way home.
Mum: “There’s some computer stuff up stairs. Could you go through it and tell me what you want to keep?” Me: “Woah.”

Star Trek: Lower Decks looks like Final Space.

The first third of 2020 crawled. But May and June just evaporated.
Success! I’ve implemented my custom comments section on my website. Have a look at this page for an example. I need to adjust the css so it’s a little more readable, but it works!
Now to see if I can turn this rough proof of concept into a useable theme template.
Now most peope in most countries are wearing masks, can we also agree that everyone should wear a name tag too?
A lot of people are pouring into Hey email. I get about 3 emails a day. So classic email is still my jam.
I’m watching the Star Trek: Voyager double episode Future’s End, where they’re transported “back” to 1996 Los Angeles (it was filmed in 1996 or 1997). In 2020 it feels like being transported way back in time too.
