An apple a day keeps the doctor away. If a doctor eats an apple, they explode into a paradoxical plasma.

You know you’re old if it feels like 2003 was just a few years ago, and 2035 is an incomprehensible far future.
One thing that always confused me about the uniforms in Star Trek TNG is that Picard’s never seems to fit. He’s always pulling it down, like he’s wearing a t-shirt that’s too short.
That was an interesting episode of Doctor Who (Season 12 Episode 9).
With the (justified) panic regarding Coronavirus, remember that “[those face masks are absolute rubbish and they do nothing(https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/408255/wuhan-coronavirus-face-masks-do-nothing-virologist).”
🖖🏼 J’aime écouter Jean-Luc parler français. That was… interesting. Seems a lot’s happened in the Federation over the last 18 years. I’m looking forward to the next episode. The final scene was… whaaa?
🖖🏼 It’s dark, I’ve got my headphones on, there’s no cricket on, and so I can finally watch episode 1 of Star Trek Picard.
Small possibility we may be visiting BC and Seattle this year.
“By far, the modern use of the word ‘decimate’ is people correcting others that they’ve misused the word decimate.”
It’s shaping up to be a hot weekend. 27° tomorrow and 28° on Sunday. Oof I need to chill some beer.
🏏 My beloved Black Caps are dominating in the first quarter of their innings. Will be interesting to see how India go with the bat. They’re not great on lish green wickets. 73/0 after 7.
I was surprised.
Oh no. What kind of timing is this!?
If you’re a Star Trek fan, you have to watch this. No, you’re crying.
I just turned the world into an open face sandwich.
M’lady woke up in a panic last night saying a giant spider had just bitten her. I thought she’d dreamed it, but turns out it was a weta crawling on her face (they’re huge, but harmless)
I like learning French with Duolingo, but something that’s infuriating is the listening:
“Ils regardent la télé” (they are watching the TV) and “Il regarde la télé” (he is watching the TV)
Are pronounced exactly the same, but write the incorrect one and you’re marked wrong.
🖖🏼 I’m watching a lot of Voyager before Picard comes out. A question I have RE the Borg is why they walk around their ships pushing buttons if they’re all linked up and integrated with their technology. Seems utterly redundant, save for drones boarding other vessels/planets.
I am 100% buying one of these CO₂ tank Sodastream adaptors when they become available, because getting refills at the supermarket is extremely expensive.
🖖🏼 There is the premier of a brand new series of Star Trek this week. It’s only ever happened 7 times:
I’m rewatching Star Trek Voyager. Turns out I’ve never seen the last two seasons(!) One thing that strikes me, though, is why is the damn chef in the executive? Neelix is such a terrible character. And so is Kes. And Harry Kim. And Tom Paris.
Given the iPhone limits computing a guess for a password every 80 milliseconds, brute forcing my iPhone password would take more than a googol (10¹⁰⁰) years.
🖖🏼 I love how quaint the replicator orders for coffee are in Star Trek. Picard specifies the tea he wants, “Tea, Earl Grey, Hot”, but all coffee orders are “Coffee, black”. No “Arabica aged in a pinot barrel soy flat white, drinkably warm in a thermos” for space coffee.
Both of these passports have expired. I’m only renewing one. Can you guess which?
I’d say 128 GB is enough.
