As an example of the dangerous driving, this is how close the sign-written ute got passing me. I have the video too. A friend said “wait it out over the weeken”, but I’m still angry about it, so complaint to be laid. The lesson is, don’t endanger people ina company vehicle.

My “Dangerous Driving” photo/video album has been growing quickly in the last two weeks I’ve been riding around with a camera on my helmet. 4 worth me going through the hassle of pulling them off the camera and editing them. One of which was a sign-written ute (pick up truck).

I have come to the realisation that I need glasses. I borrowed someone’s at the weekend to read a menu in low light and once focussed thought “holy shit! I need glasses!” So next week, imma get glasses. I’ve made it well into my fifth decade without them, so that’s a good run.

I really want to write my dating apps article, but I have to sit down in a good frame of mind. It really boils down to people being weird and broken and awful (especially heterosexual men, because my gender suuuuuuucks).

Went to see an open home today. Saw an Earthquake-Prone Building sign before I walked in. Literally turned on my heel and walked away. Being a geologist limits the houses you’d considering living in. Another example: “Beachfront cottage”, yeah, no thanks.

Does anyone else out there normally reach for a pencil instead of a pen when writing down notes?

Great seeing so many people commuting by bike this morning. Why yes, I do have a new helmet camera.

After being on dating apps for a couple of months, I’ll be taking the rest of the year off from meeting new people (because the next 6 weeks will be extremely busy). And I’ll be writing up my opinions of the whole thing. Hopefully that’ll be entertaining.

Yes it was later than usual. And the lights were in my favour. But I’d be challenged to get home much quicker, or even as quickly, in a car. There was almost 200 metres in elevation gain in there too.

If you drive a car, you should attend a defensive driving course. If you ride a bike, there should be offensive riding courses. Because holy crap car drivers.
