Woo hoo! Second day of summer. Today’s high temperature… 15°C!?

Rode in to work a little earlier today. Much less traffic, a lot more people on bikes! (there were a couple behind me out of frame too). Felt a lot safer riding in a pack of 9. SO looking forward to the Newtown cycle lanes being finished.
My “Yes, I know you’re support, but I’m not going to follow any of your recommendations or answer any of your questions so you can help me, and instead do a bunch of other stuff instead.” t-shirt is raising a lot of questions already answered by my t-shirt.
I’m going to do it, whanau. I’m going to buy a new computer to replace my 7 year old 5K iMac. Unless someone gives me a reason I shouldn’t…?
As an example of the dangerous driving, this is how close the sign-written ute got passing me. I have the video too. A friend said “wait it out over the weeken”, but I’m still angry about it, so complaint to be laid. The lesson is, don’t endanger people ina company vehicle.
My “Dangerous Driving” photo/video album has been growing quickly in the last two weeks I’ve been riding around with a camera on my helmet. 4 worth me going through the hassle of pulling them off the camera and editing them. One of which was a sign-written ute (pick up truck).
I have come to the realisation that I need glasses. I borrowed someone’s at the weekend to read a menu in low light and once focussed thought “holy shit! I need glasses!” So next week, imma get glasses. I’ve made it well into my fifth decade without them, so that’s a good run.
I really want to write my dating apps article, but I have to sit down in a good frame of mind. It really boils down to people being weird and broken and awful (especially heterosexual men, because my gender suuuuuuucks).
Good. These guys, even the good ones, are terrible. The worst of all of course, being Quinovic, who are universally hated by all renters and some landlords alike.
Property managers to be regulated, meth testing changes, and healthy homes extension announced
Went to see an open home today. Saw an Earthquake-Prone Building sign before I walked in. Literally turned on my heel and walked away. Being a geologist limits the houses you’d considering living in. Another example: “Beachfront cottage”, yeah, no thanks.
🖖🏼 frens
I’m introducing a friend to science fiction as an entire genre tomorrow through the art of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I’ve decided on these episodes:
But I need a universe intro episode. Thoughts?

Does anyone else out there normally reach for a pencil instead of a pen when writing down notes?
Great seeing so many people commuting by bike this morning. Why yes, I do have a new helmet camera.
After being on dating apps for a couple of months, I’ll be taking the rest of the year off from meeting new people (because the next 6 weeks will be extremely busy). And I’ll be writing up my opinions of the whole thing. Hopefully that’ll be entertaining.
“It’s not too bad outside. I’ll take my bike into town.”
“Maybe I’ll take the bus…”
My very advanced native English speaking dilemma this week: appropriate use of into and in to. This language, you guys… ooof.
Beautifully still, mild night in Wellington tonight. Perfectly clear sky. Just ideal Lunar eclipse weather.
Watching the Moon being eclipsed, it’s incredible remembering that what I’m seeing is the shadow of the planet I’m standing on.
Eclipse is underway (and my iPad takes terrible night sky pictures)
“I have a girlfriend. But you wouldn’t know her, she’s on a different Mastodon instance.”
Yes it was later than usual. And the lights were in my favour. But I’d be challenged to get home much quicker, or even as quickly, in a car. There was almost 200 metres in elevation gain in there too.
Is this getting out of hand? Of course it is. Why would you expect otherwise?
One of my colleagues made a memorial card for Lefty.
I found Lefty, my missing AirPod! The bad news is, I found Lefty, my missing AirPod.
